With his debut novel The Swimming-Pool Library in 1988, Alan Hollinghurst was immediately selected as one of . It was a wise choice. In 1994 Hollinghurst was shortlisted for the and winner of the for The Folding Star. This was followed by The Spell in 1998 and, six years later, by The Line of Beauty, which is published in Greece by Kastaniotis Editions.
Alan Hollinghurst was born in England in 1954. He studied and then taught English at Oxford prior to becoming a full-time writer.
