In collaboration with The European Center for the Translation of Literature and the Human Sciences (EKEMEL), we invite applications for the Literary Translation Award 2008 from translators and publishers with an interest in contemporary literature from the UK.

The prize of €3,000 and one month’s accommodation at the House of Literature in Lefkes, Paros, will be awarded to the translator of the best translation into Greek of either a contemporary UK novel, short story, poem or play.

The translation must have been published in Greece during 2007 and may be submitted either by the publisher or by the translator.

This award, along with the awards for translations into Greek from French, Italian, German and Spanish, will be presented at a ceremony on 30 September 2008, International Translation Day.
