Documentary and Disability, 1st International Festival

Emotion Pictures, the first-ever International Documentary Film Festival on the theme of disability, aims to bring to prominence the concerns of artists from all over the world on disability issues and to encourage public debate using the common language of art as the starting point.

The programme includes 40 international films and features celebrated Greek and international personalities.

Emotion Pictures is a competitive event and there will be five awards. The jury is comprised of distinguished Greek and foreign artists such as award-winning director, author and screenwriter Jean-Marie Drot; the former director of the London Disability Film Festival Caglar Kimyoncu; composer Dimitris Papadimitriou; film director Antonis Rellas; and the President of the Attica Cultural Society Eleni Moustaira.

The festival is an initiative of Mr Theodoros Rousopoulos, Minister of State and Government Spokesman, and is being organised by the General Secretariat of Communication – General Secretariat of Information in collaboration with the Greek Film Centre, supported by the British Council. It will take place in parallel with the 2nd International Conference People with Disabilities and the Mass Media.

We invite you, therefore, to warmly embrace the Emotion Pictures festival – make a date for you diary!
