ENSEMBLE MEETING OF MUSIC ACADEMIES We are delighted to support this year’s Ensemble Meeting of Music Academies (EMMA 2010), which focuses on film scores and is taking place in the enchanting location of the Old Palace in Limenaria, Thasos. EMMA 2010 is honoured to present the internationally acclaimed film score composer Trevor Jones, who is visiting Thasos to take part in the festival. Jones became widely known through the soundtracks he composed for a number of films including The Last of the Mohicans, Cleopatra, In the Name of the Father, Mississippi Burning, Notting Hill, Excalibur and Cliffhanger among others. A line-up of distinguished guests from Greece, the UK (including representatives from the National Film and Television School), France, the USA and Holland will also be taking part in the festival activities, sharing their experience, giving seminars and concerts, and thus celebrating the unique role of music and sound in the art of the cinema. The festival is aimed at students, professional and amateur artists and musicians, as well as all music lovers who wish to learn more about the wonderful world of film music.
