ARTISTS IN DIALOGUE WITH THE BENAKI MUSEUM

Artists in Dialogue with the Benaki Museum, a joint project we are running in collaboration with the Benaki Museum, brings together four artists from Greece, Cyprus and the UK.

This collaborative project aims to nurture the conditions for mutuality and increased understanding of the cultures of the partner countries, building strong links between all partners and creating spaces for the discussion of contemporary issues around art and arts institutions.

By inviting artists to create original works in dialogue with the Benaki Museum, its collections and its spaces, the project offers different viewpoints and initiates a process of understanding issues of memory, identity and public space.

Participating artists:

Antonis Pittas: Landart
Landart is an installation specially made for the ramp at the Pireos Street Annexe of the Benaki Museum.
Athens: 11 February–1 April 2012
Andy Holden: Cookham Erratics
UK artist Andy Holden is visiting Athens to present a new commission specially created for the main building of the Benaki Museum.
Athens: 12 October–4 December 2011
