ALTER EGO COMPETITION

WHAT IS ALTER EGO?
Alter Ego is one of the seven flagship projects chosen by the European Commission to celebrate the Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008. The project is a EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) initiative and is running Europe-wide in 22 member states.

ALTER EGO COMPETITION
The aim of the Alter Ego Competition is to promote intercultural dialogue and cross-cultural understanding. Young people between the ages of 14 and 18 are invited to create artworks showing a portrait of themselves and their 'Alter Ego'.

The competition and wrap-around activities encourage active European citizenship among young people through collaborative art projects.

THE WINNERS
Two winners from Greece will join Alter Ego project winners from all over Europe at an intercultural workshop in Denmark. The workshop will focus on the European dimension of cultural diversity and will lead to the creation of joint projects on the topic of cultural diversity and dialogue.

ALTER EGO LAUNCH EVENTS
Join us at our Alter Ego launch events, which are taking place as part of European Music Day.

Three top European bands have been invited to perform in Greece to promote the competition: Long Range (UK), the Alex Tassel Project (France) and Christian Prommer (Germany).
