Guangzhou Office: Examinations Services Assistant (ESA3)(Indefinite contract)

The British Council in Guangzhou office is looking for an Examinations Services Assistant (ESA3).This post is being advertised both internally and externally.

The main aim of this job is to ensure that the post-test of administration is compliant with  the Examinations Services Customer Service Standard (ESCSS), global administrative standards and Chian -specific docmuented standards.

Requirements:

  • You must possess strong communication skills in Chinese and English
  • You are able to demonstrate strong time management skills
  • You are able to demonstrate strong administration skills and experiences
  • You are able to deliver clear results for the British Council
  • You are able to establishing a genuinely common goal with others

The British Council Examinations team is looking for one Projects Officer, Arts, based in Beijing, fixed-term contract till 31 Dec. 2012. This Band 5 post is advertised both internally and externally.

Beijing office: Education Marketing Officer

The British Council is seeking qualified and enthusiastic candidates to fill the post of Education Marketing Officer who will be based in Beijing on fixed term contract till end of February 2013.

The key objective of the post is to develop and expand marketing and business reach to support the British Council Services for International Marketing and Internationalising Higher Education Programmes across targeted and priority markets.

The post holder will be handling the following duties:

  • Organisation and management of generic education marketing and promotional events and activities that will promote a better understanding of Education UK and UK Culture in the identified markets
  • Developing and implementing programme of marketing partnerships with key partners to establish a strong regional network in the identified markets
  • Collecting and managing market intelligence and market research about the identified markets; disseminating timely market information to subscribing institutions

Key Competencies required in the post will be

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese to enable effective working relations internally and with external clients and contacts.  In addition, an ability to conduct public presentations professionally and confidently in both English and Chinese to large audiences
  • Excellent events management and marketing skills
  • An attention to detail that will enable the postholders to cover the necessary logistical needs of event management and preparation
  • Enthusiasm, creativity and initiative
  • Sound judgement and the ability to meet deadlines in high pressure and timebound situations
  • An ability to work effectively within and where necessary take lead responsibility for team based activities

The British Council in Guangzhou office is looking for a Project Officer, Society South China (1 year fixed term contract, extendable according to the operational needs).

This post is being advertised both internally and externally.

The main aim of this job is to support Project Manager Society the implementation and quality control of regional large scale projects and agreed local projects To manage the implementation and quality control of large scale projects in the area of Society and agreed local projects by working with partners, stakeholders and wider target audiences in China and the UK to meet the British Council’s strategic objectives.

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our team of IELTS examiners in mainland China.

You will need:

An undergraduate degree or a qualification which can be demonstrated to be an equivalent to an undergraduate degree.

A TEFL/TESOL qualification from a recognised institution (at minimum certificate level) or EFL / ESOL related studies completed as part of an undergraduate / post graduate award course from a recognised institution (minimum certificate level equivalent) or A degree in Education (if supported by an undergraduate degree which includes studies focused on English language at point 1 above) .

A minimum of three years full-time relevant teaching experience (or equivalent part time) is required*. If an applicant’s EFL / ESOL qualification is at certificate level (or equivalent), one of the three years full-time teaching experience must be post EFL / ESOL certificate qualification. If the EFL / ESOL qualification is at Diploma level or higher, teaching experience post EFL / ESOL qualification is not required.

The required professional attributes and interpersonal skills.

*Note: ‘Full-time teaching’ is classified as a minimum of 14 hours of face-to-face teaching per week
