A project ( funded by the FCO) working with NGOs in the south east of the country where women are subjected not only to abuse in the home and honour killings but had also experienced violence from the police and army. Access to information (and legal advice), support services and building networks to raise awareness of these issues are part of the project outcomes. The project focuses on women's empowerment not only through financial independence but also providing them with support networks and information resources to raise awareness and lobby for implementation of their rights.
