Tom Bewick is the founding chief executive, since 2004, of Creative & Cultural Skills – the Sector Skills Council for advertising, craft, cultural heritage, design, music and the arts. He is also a trustee of LSN. Over the years, Tom has advised several ministers on employment and skills policies and in 2001, was the main architect of sectoral training policy reform. His time at the Department for Education and Skills culminated in the establishment of Sector Skills Councils as outlined in the UK-wide government policy statement: Meeting the sector skills and productivity challenge. Tom is a member of the parliamentary National Skills Forum and now works with politicians of all parties to secure better employment and skills policies for the UK’s workforce.
