Mr Wu is Director of Academic Links for the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), a position he has held since 1999. He is currently responsible for all aspects of the University’s international relations work and student exchange programmes. During his leadership student exchange at CUHK has expanded dramatically, from around 250 incoming and outgoing students in 1999-2000 to nearly seven times that many in 2007-2008. Over 200 international universities are currently linked with CUHK through student exchange programmes and research collaborations.
Mr Wu has received a BA in Economics in 1968, a Diploma in Management Studies in 1977 and a Master of Business Administration in 1982, all from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to his work with CUHK, Mr Wu was Director of International Liaison and Exchanges for the University of Toronto, where he launched the first university-wide student exchange programme.
Mr Wu is immediate past chair on the Board of the University Mobility for Asia Pacific, based in Bangkok, is Vice President of the Asia Pacific Association for International Education, whose secretariat is based in Seoul, and serves on the Council of Advisers of the International Student Exchange Programme, based in Washington DC.
