Matthew Amroliwala
Broadcaster and presenter, UK

Aside from BBC News, Matthew co-presents CrimeWatch alongside Kirsty Young. He has also fronted series on science, innovation and the environment for the Discovery Channel.

Matthew graduated from Durham University where he read Law and Politics. Originally a chartered accountant, Matthew began his broadcast career as a political reporter both at Westminster and on the campaign trail with the Liberal Democrats. He then served as BBC New York correspondent during the impeachment of President Clinton.

Matthew has presented for BBCs East, and made a number of films on sensitive issues from sex tourism in Sri Lanka to racism in the NHS. He has also reported from Bosnia on the fall of Srebrenica and travelled throughout the Balkans during that conflict. He has twice been nominated for the Reporter of the Year award by the Royal Television Society.

Matthew will host the Opening Plenary and chair sessions 2d - Opportunity or cost: students and international experience and 3a - Capitalising on China's digital cultural explosion.
