Marie Gleason
Program Coordinator, University of Delaware Center for International Studies, USA

Marie Gleason is a Program Coordinator at the University of Delaware Center for International Studies (CFIS). Marie facilitates all the short-term and semester programs to the UK and liaises with the Resident Director in London. She coordinates other short–term study abroad programs with locations as diverse as India, Jamaica, Australia and Spain and since 2001 she has coordinated over sixty programs. She is responsible for the coordination of all CFIS scholarships, which in the academic year 2007-2008 totalled over $400,000. Marie also coordinates the Faculty and Staff Foreign Language Program which offers courses in conversational language learning. Before becoming a Program Coordinator, she served as a Project Assistant on government funded programs working with groups from China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Prior to joining the Center for International Studies, she worked as a tutor at the University of Delaware English Language Institute teaching English as a second language. She also taught and studied in Granada, Spain for a year as part of a graduate student exchange program between the University of Delaware and the University of Granada.
