How to register for IGCSE exams
University of Cambridge International Examinations
International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams
Qualifications you can use globally.
Do you want to study in the UK at an institute for further or higher education? You can register and take either the University of Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE, O or A Levels with us.

What is the IGCSE?
The IGCSE is the world's most popular international qualification which develops successful students, giving them excellent preparation for their next steps in education. It includes progression to A and AS level study, and equips you with skills for immediate employment. Cambridge IGCSE is recognised by universities and employers worldwide.

What are O levels?
O levels are normally designed to prepare you for academic progression unto A and AS level study. O levels in some cases may also equip you with the skills necessary for employment. International O levels are recognised throughout the world, by academic institutes and employers, as a mark of quality and evidence of ability.

Why should I take an O level?
O levels are needed before you can progress to study at the A level. You also need to check that the O level qualification you want is recognised by the institution where you want to study your A level. Qualifications at O level are sometimes demanded by universities in addition to those at A-level.

When can I take an O-level?
You can take an O-level if you have completed 5 (five) years of secondary education (under the old system- O/A level system) or completed Junior Secondary School (JSS).

What are A levels?
A levels, like O levels, have extensive global recognition as qualifications. They are accepted as proof of academic ability for entry into universities, institutes of higher education and military schools and show equal importance for young people moving into employment. You can take any number of A levels; though this often depends on the qualifications that your chosen institution demands.

Why should I take an A level?
Good A level results can give you access to undergraduate studies at some of the best higher education learning institutions in the UK and globally. A level qualifications can also give you access to a range of professional or vocational courses.

When can I take an A level?
You can take an A level if you have an O level qualification (usually in the same subject that you want to study at A level). Some A level subjects are not available at O level.

Where can I study for my exams?
Though we offer a range of exams in Ghana, we do not advise on where students can follow an appropriate syllabus for their examination. It is up to the student to arrange for their own tutoring. Some exams also require special facilities or an accredited examiner which our Examinations Services may not be able to provide. You can contact us to find out.

We regret that among the commonly requested subjects we are not able to offer is Agricultural Science and Computer Science.

Where can I find out more?
Our examinations team can provide you with more information about other general qualifications you can take with us.
