What is the GCE?
The GCE is an internationally recognised qualification you can take at the Ordinary (O) or the Advanced (A) levels, depending on what you need it for and the course you intend to follow. We advise you to take a preparation course that specifically follows a syllabus if you want to take a GCE exam.

What is an O-level GCE?
An O-level is an Ordinary level GCE qualification (an academic qualification obtained as a school-leaving certificate or a stepping-stone to studying A-levels). You can take any number of O-levels depending on the qualifications your chosen institutions demand. Most students in UK schools take up to 9 (nine) O-levels after studying for two to three years in their chosen subjects.

Why should I take an O-level?
You need to take an exam at O-level before you can study at A-level. You also need to check that the O-level qualification you want is recognised by the institution where you want to study your A-level. Qualifications at O-level are sometimes demanded by universities in addition to those at A-level.

When can I take an O-level?
You can take an O-level if you have completed 5 (five) years of secondary education (under the old system- O/A level system) or completed Junior Secondary School (JSS).

What is an A-level GCE?
An A-level is an Advanced level GCE qualification. This examination is normally taken after 2 (two) years of A-level study, after you have taken your O-level exams. You can take any number of A-levels. This will often depend on the qualifications that your chosen institutions demand.

Why should I take an A-level?
Good A-level results can give you access to undergraduate studies at some of the best higher education learning institutions in the UK and globally. A-level qualifications can also give you access to some professional or vocational courses.

When can I take an A-level?
You can take an A-level if you have an O-level qualification (usually in the same subject that you want to study at A-level; some A-level subjects are not available at O-level).

Where can I study for my exams?
Though we offer a range of exams in Ghana, we do not advise on where students can follow an appropriate syllabus for their examination. It is up to the student to arrange for their own tutoring. Some exams also require special facilities or an accredited examiner which our Examinations Services may not be able to provide. You can check with us.

We regret that among the commonly requested subjects we are not able to offer is Agricultural Science and Computer Science.

Where can I find out more?
