CIMA - Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - is a leading membership body that offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management accountancy, with a focus on accounting for business.
CIMA members are at the forefront of some of the world’s most successful organisations and British Council Ghana can help you begin your journey to becoming a Chartered Management Accountant. We administer the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, Computer Based Assessment.
If you are new to accounting then you must complete the CIMA CBA, the first step towards becoming a Chartered Management Accountant. It provides the ideal foundation for further study, but is also recognised in its own right. It will introduce you to the concept of management accounting and basics of accounting and business which could lead to a professional qualification.
CIMA have recently launched a new 2006 CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting syllabus - this consists of (5) five subjects and is examined by computer based assessment. If you have already studied a relevant qualification - such as a degree or a professional qualification in accounting or business, CIMA may grant you exemptions from some (or all) of the 5 papers at the certificate level.
From 2 October 2006 to 2 March 2007 you can choose whether you sit assessments under the 2000 Certificate syllabus or the new 2006 Certificate syllabus. Find detailed information here.
For further information on registering to take the exams through the British Council see the CIMA CBA Information Sheet for Students and the CBA Exam Registration Form.
