DISTANCE DELTA
A unique programme for experienced English Language Teaching (ELT) professionals. Developed by International House and the British Council, this programme prepares experienced teachers for the Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA).  

FATHOM
Online learning centre run by a consortium of UK/US universities and organisations. Courses and seminars on a wide range of topics.

I LEARN.TO
A UK-based online training company with an innovative approach to the e-learning market delivering quality training courses at very affordable prices. Focuses on key skills ranging from basic computer skills, advanced IT, to management and soft skills, e.g. negotiation and communications skills.

LEARN DIRECT
Main UK Government site for adult learners, offering online courses and information on how to enrol. Has a searchable database of courses. Includes general advice and assistance for adult learners.

NATIONAL EXTENSION COLLEGE
A non-profit making trust dedicated to widening access to education for adults through distance learning. Enrols around 10,000 new students a year on over 140 home and covers GCSE, A-level and vocational courses.  

OPEN LEARNING CENTRE INTERNATIONAL
Offers a service of flexible training, personal development and education throughout the world. Covers a very wide range of courses, GCSE, A-level and vocational.  

OPEN LEARNING ACADEMY
Combines traditional distance learning materials with a unique internet-based personal tutorial system and offers GCSE, AS- and A-level courses in a wide range of subjects to students of all ages.

OXFORD OPEN LEARNING
Offers a wide range of A-level, GCSE and vocational training courses. Covers most subjects at GCSE and A-level.  

TRACE ONLINE
Courses in creative writing. Includes Electronic Writing, Website Design, Writing for Children, Creative Writing Workshop, Novel Writing, Travel Writing, Article Writing & Screenwriting. Aimed at practising writers.

BEGINNERS' TUTORIALS (FREE)
Provides hundreds of free online tutorials on a wide range of software applications.  

LEARN DIRECT FOR BUSINESS (FREE)
Taster courses in ICT, Business/Management and Basic Skills. Includes quizzes and games. Basic level but useful both for non-native speakers of English and those with less experience of formal learning.  

NUTROCKER (FREE)
Free online courses and tutorials on software and programming. Covers HTML, graphics, operating systems and many other subjects.  

ONLINE WEB PRACTICALS (FREE)
Provided by the Department of Chemistry at Oxford University. Includes software applications, IT and chemistry. Aimed specifically at undergraduates following science courses.

WRITERS BUREAU (FREE)
Offers home-study courses in creative writing, journalism and poetry. Includes some free lessons on both writing and marketing your work.
