Sophie Panjikidze
Sophie Panjikidze, Certificate in Advanced English, June 2004

First of all, thank you for the opportunity to have enabled me to take exam in Certificate in Advanced English.

I passed the above exam mainly for professional purpose. I work at the law office and hold a position of Paralegal. As a member of the client service team, I participate in legal engagements under the guidance and supervision of more experienced professionals. Due to the fact that most of our clients are foreign investors, non-governmental organisations, etc., working languages in the firm are Georgian and English. Respectively, we require to draft / translate all documents in Georgian as well as in English versions. We avoid delivering company’s documents to the outside translators for confidentiality purposes. Therefore, in most of the cases translations are done within the office. My responsibilities include providing thorough translations.

No English language documents are accepted in the state agencies unless they are notarised. In order to be qualified as an English language specialist, one must have obtained diploma from the university. However, Public Notaries in Georgia acknowledge CAE as a proof of the knowledge of English language.

On the basis of CAE Notary Public registered me as a duly qualified English language specialist. Consequently, I am allowed to confirm authenticity of translations, which is very beneficial for the effective operation of our firm.

Once again, please accept my kind appreciation.
