Band scores are recorded on a Test Report Form with your picture on it, showing overall ability as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking from one to nine (absolute beginner through to expert user with fully operational command of the language, appropriate, accurate and fluent with complete understanding). The institutions to which you are applying will normally stipulate which band they require.
The results are printed on a Test Report Form 13 days after the test date and immediately sent to you by post. No results will be given by phone, fax or email. You are allowed to receive one original copy ONLY of the Test Report Form. Official copies can be sent to the educational institutions of your choice if you fill in page 3 of the application form when completing your registration.
13 days after the date of your test from 3pm, your results are also available on line. To access the British Council's IELTS on-line results system, please go to this web page and follow the instructions.
You may take the test as many times as you wish.
Your exam will be marked by at least two independent professional examiners, and if necessary, by three and even four. Still, if you are not satisfied with your results, you have the option of applying for a re-evaluation of your test. This process is called Enquiry on Results. This service costs €90 Should your score improve as a result of this re-evaluation, this amount will be refunded to you.
To make use of this service please download the Enquiry on Results Form . Please complete the form and return it to us along with your original Test Report Form and a cheque of €90.00.
