	Five steps to apply for IELTS

Please note that registrations for the IELTS test in our current locations (Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Nantes) in France are centralised by the British Council office in Paris. You can take your IELTS test at various dates throughout the year in any of those locations, however IELTS registrations are always handled by the British Council in Paris.

The price of an IELTS test is currently €175.00. Please follow the steps indicated below to proceed with registration:

Check dates and location for the tests.

Download and complete the ielts application form or ask the British Council to send it to you by post (T: 01 49 55 73 00). You can quote 2 dates if you want. If the test is full on your first choice we will register you on your second choice. You should receive a notification at least one week in advance. If both sessions are full, we will contact you and give you other dates or a full refund. The IELTS tests in France are the 'pen and paper' version.

Post the following documents to the address below:

a completed and signed application form
the test location form
two recent photos (passport size)
a photocopy of your ID (passport or French ID card)
a cheque for €175.00 made out to the British Council to:

Opening hours : 9.30-13.00 and 14.00-17.30

Please do not forget to mention your address, contact number, and email address, and the test version (academic or general training). Incomplete applications cannot be processed.

If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please download our bank details . Do not forget to send us the receipt with your name and test date clearly mentioned on it.
