CERTIFICATE IN ADVANCED ENGLISH (CAE)
An ideal qualification for academic and career purposes

The Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is set at Level C1 of the Council of Europe Common Framework for modern languages. Learners at this level are expected to be able to use the structures of English with ease and fluency. At this level learners are expected to cope in most situations that would arise in an English-speaking country, socially, professionally and in higher education.

Candidates usually need to study for about two years after passing FCE to be successful at CAE.

Exam papers contents and dates:

Reading: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Writing: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Use of English: one hour
Listening: approximately 40 minutes
Speaking: 15 minutes per pair of candidates

The speaking and writing tests are always on different dates. You will receive a schedule with your speaking appointment one month before the examination.
