Certification and translation of diplomas

If you want to study in the UK, you usually have to translate your French diplomas into English and get any copies certified.

TRANSLATORS

The British Council in France does not provide a translation service, and we cannot proof-check your translated documents. If you need to get your diploma, or other educational document, translated into English, you must contact a qualified translator.

Do you need a translator in Paris? Have a look at the accredited list of translators from the main Town Halls (mairies) or look at the CETI website.

You can also contact the various British consulates in France.Click on the region of your choice to see if there is a consultate available. You can then search under ‘Information for British Nationals living in France'. You will get a non-exhaustive list of translators in the region.

If you really can’t find a translator near you, you can try contacting the Greffe du Tribunal in your region, or look in the Yellow Pages directory.

CERTIFICATION

If you need an official stamp on photocopies of your original British diplomas (5€ per certified copy) please come to the address below on Tuesdays between 11am and 4pm. The same dates and times apply for IELTS certified copies.
