What types of intensive courses are available? How often are they held and what are the dates and prices ?

How do I register my child for an intensive course ?

Can I pay for an intensive course in several instalments?
No, the full price must be paid when registering.
Do I have to make an appointment for a placement test ?  

All secondary school pupils will be tested on the first day of the course and will join a class with other pupils of a similar level, according to their test results.  

We remind parents that primary school pupils taking intensive courses are not tested; the classes are based on the pupils’ age and not on the level of English.

What does the test consist of ?
It is a written test based on grammatical and lexical skills and knowledge.
Can I make an advance registration, or reserve a place on a holiday course ?
No; you must return the completed registration form pdf icon and a cheque (for the full amount) to the Teaching Centre as soon as possible to be sure of getting a place.  
Can I leave a payment a the reception on the ground floor ?

No; all payments must be made on the 4th floor during the Teaching Centre opening hours.
The reception staff on the ground floor are not allowed to take them.

How can I register my child ? Do I have to make an appointment?
No, you do not need an appointment to make a registration, but please note the opening hours of the Teaching Cente
From what age do you take pupils on holiday courses?

We take children from Grande Section de Maternelle (who are 5 years old) for our courses which take place between February and July 2009.
We take pupils from 6ème LV1 up to Terminale for our secondary courses in October 2008, and in February, June and July 2009.

How many pupils are there in a class ?
Classes have between 10 to 18 pupils depending on their age and level, and also depending on the size of the available classrooms.
Are these holiday courses suitable for bilingual pupils or pupils in international sections?  
No, our holiday courses are only for pupils who are studying English as a foreign language.
What is the content of the courses ?

Is lunch provided during the holiday courses ?
No, you have to organise your child’s meal, as the British Council is not responsible for pupils during the lunch break (between 12.30 and 14.00)
Do I have to buy books ?
No, all the books needed for the English lessons are included in the price of the course, and will be given out during the course.
