It would be impossible for the town of Lille to celebrate Bombay without taking a close look at what is going on in London, a focal point and a place of welcome for a large part of the disapora of the Indian sub-continent.
This will take place on 18 and 19 November with ‘Midi Midi Londres’ 24 hours in which to discover the many faces of contemporary India in the capital of the UK.
The Maison Folie de Wazemmes will be the headquarters for this event with the exhibition Rich Mix, the play ‘Behzti’ and the music of Nasha but the whole of Lille will be echoing the rhythm of London with exhibitions, concerts, performing arts and the reading of stories for children..
If you can’t be in Lille for the actual dates of the ‘Midi Midi’ programme you can still catch up: the exhibitions are on show until 17 January, the Théâtre du Nord will continue its series of readings until the end of the year and the performance of ‘Behzti’ is touring in the North of France as well as being shown in Brussels and in Paris.
