Stan’s Cafe
Performing at Le Quai

You missed it

STAN’S CAFE

Le Quai is a new centre for performance in the town of Angers and will be inaugurated at the end of June. It will present the performance/installation Of All the People in All the World: Europe created by the British company Stan’s Cafe.

In this installation, every person living in Europe is represented by a grain of rice.
Over a ten day period, the actors of Stan’s Cafe count and weigh these grains of rice to represent previously researched population statistics. From a single pile are created many others according to their titles.

The company will interact with the audience, the arts team from the Quai, and students from the Ecole des Beaux Arts of the city of Angers to create a specific version of this installation. Visitors to the Quai and the company will suggest pertinent themes, some from their centres of interest, others within the framework of the Quai. One of the main strands will be sustainable development, and Le Quai will propose different themes around this subject.
