Rome in Italy was the first city to have 1 million people (in 133 BC!). London reached 1 million people in 1810, and New York reached 1 million people in 1875. Today more than 300 cities have a population of more than 1 million people.
More capital cities begin with the letter "B" than any other letter. Berlin, Berne, Bucharest, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Baghdad, Bratislava, Brussels, Belgrade, Bogotá, and Belfast are some of the capital cities beginning with B.
