The Big Wild Read
Each year libraries in the UK organise a reading challenge based on a theme. This site is for children who are taking part in the reading challenge. It has a writer's blog, some great activities, and a place to leave messages.

The Blue Peter Book Club
Blue Peter is a children's TV programme by the BBC. Its website feaures a book club, with information about popular children's books and setting up a book club.

Wired for Books - Kids Corner
This site has stories from famous classic children's books by Beatrix Potter, Lewis Carroll and others. Read the stories online.

The Zone at Scholastic
Scholastic have a great website with an area for children called the Zone, with book news, competitions, information about authors, and competitions.

Puffin Books
This site is by the children's publisher Puffin but has lots of information about books and authors. It is great for children who love books.

This is another publisher's website but it has lots of interesting stuff about authors such as Jacqueline Wilson and Philip Pullman, and also recommends books for different age groups.
