Vietnam Partnership

Dear colleagues

We were very pleased to see so many of you again last month in London. We have brought back with us a lot of your valuable recommendations on how we can work together to increase student numbers and to facilitate your collaboration with Vietnam partners.

Full information about the meeting and handouts is available at http://www.britishcouncil.org/eumd-vietnam-meetings-and-surveys.htm.

On behalf of the Vietnam team, I’d like to send my great thanks to Queen Mary who kindly offered to host the event this year.

We will revise the Vietnam Marketing plan to include a market development plan for HCMC, taking on board your recommendations during the focus groups, and will keep you informed in due course.

The Vietnamese economy is facing its utmost challenge for the first time since the start of the open door policy in the early 1990s. Will it have any impact on foreign direct investment? Will it be able to maintain its forecasted growth rate of 8%? This issue will provide you with a positive look at the economic downturn in Vietnam.

Read on for highlights of the Vietnam HE renovation agenda, our recent and upcoming exhibitions/missions, and meetings with our team members and don’t forget to support our UK Alumni activities.

We hope you will enjoy this e-newsletter and please let us have your comments on how we could make it even more interesting and useful to you by emailing to EducationUK.Partnership@britishcouncil.org.vn.

On behalf of the Vietnam Education UK Team

 GENERAL MARKET UPDATES

Vietnam HE renovation is setting ambitious goals to be achieved by 2020, which represents great potential for development of the education market.

The quality of current advanced programmes and another project which is about to be submitted to the Government request more collaboration with foreign education providers.
