In order to ensure excellent study experiences in the UK, Education UK, TUKAPN and the British Council hosted its annual preparation session, Pre-departure Briefing for Thai students accepted to study in UK universities in both Bangkok and Chiang Mai . This year, the venue was crowded and abuzz with excitement as over 300 students and alumni from various institutions throughout the UK joined the session.

Chedi Hotel, Chiang Mai
The event started in the afternoon of 1 June 2008 at the CM Square, Novotel Hotel at Siam Square and Saturday 17 May 2008 at the Chedi Hotel in Chiang Mai. As with all such events in previous years, the Pre-departure Briefing with the cooperation with of the British Embassy and International Office for Migration (IOM) offered an excellent opportunity for students to gain information on the UK visa application process, health checks, and TB detection, as well as financial advice by Kasikorn bank and travel tips & advice by British Airways.

CM Square, Bangkok
Besides the “must know” UK generic information, students also enjoyed lively, humourous and informative talks by UK alumni from all regions of the UK throughout the afternoon. After the presentation and talk, tea and coffee were served in our Tea Party where alumni had a chance to welcome and chat with new members. This session was open for students to ask questions regarding experiences of former “UK students” and study methods.
