Promotional opportunities

Here in Russia we provide a number of opportunities to promote your institution.  Some of these opportunities are only available to members of the Education UK Partnership.  However, most services are available to all eligible UK education providers. These opportunities are outlined in our Menu of Services.

Contact us for further information about any of the services described below.

Display of promotional material

From the end of September 2009, we are discontinuing the service of displaying institution prospectuses (also known as 'bulk freight') in British Council offices. This is because our research has shown that fewer students are coming to British Council offices to view prospectuses and the service is not providing a good return on investment.

We therefore request that you do not forward any prospectuses to our offices. Thank you for your understanding.

If you have any questions, please contact educationuk.partnership@britishcouncil.org.

Commissioned mailings

If you have material that you would like to promote to prospective students in Russia contact us to discuss how we can help you.  We can distribute material to our contacts by including information in our electronic newsletters. These newsletters are sent to the students 1-2 times per month. Demand for this service can be high and priority for this service is given to our members of the Partnership.

UK inward visits

In order to familiarise leading professionals, including journalists, school counsellors and education agents with the UK we organise inward visits.  These inward visits are aimed at increasing the understanding of studying and living in the UK.  In addition they provide the perfect opportunity to showcase UK institutions.  We advertise these opportunities via EducationUK-L or via Russia Partnership newsletter.  Ensure you subscribe to EducationUK-L  and to Russia Partnership newsletter in order to hear about these opportunities.

Showcasing on Education UK websites and publications

Have you considered showcasing an opportunity through the Education UK integrated portfolio?  In Russia we produce a number of publications in which we provide advertising opportunities, you can also showcase through advertorial content on Russia’s student facing Education UK website.  To take up one of these opportunities contact one of our Education UK marketing team. Demand for this service can be high and priority for this service is given to our members of the Partnership.

Academic lectures and Workshops

If an academic from your institution is visiting Japan, you could consider holding an academic lecture or workshop. They are designed to give participants a taster of UK university study while still in Russia. Although they are not primarily intended to promote a particular institution, they act as a method of raising your institution's profile.

In order to attract participants, the visiting lecturer needs to have a high profile, and we also need ample time to promote the lecture. Please get in touch  with us in advance of the proposed visit, and we will advise on the suitability of the topic. You will be asked to fill in planning form  which will help us to promote the event.

Anglomania project

The British Council in Moscow will be the partner of the “Anglomania” project, organized by famous and popular Russian life-style magazine “Seasons”.

We invite British educational institutions to participate in “Anglomania”. Within the framework of the project, there will be lectures and workshops that will be held in English. The topics are not restricted: there can be workshops on design, painting, floristic, art-therapy, ceramics as well as lectures on interior, literature, music, gastronomical classes and many others.

The project has been designed to unite people of all ages who love the English culture, study the English language, are interested in the English art and design, and plan to study in Great Britain.

The organizers of the project will be glad to welcome academics from the British universities and colleges with their lectures and workshops.

This is a great opportunity to promote your educational institution in Russia because the institution that provides a lecturer will benefit from the following promotion:

  1. Editorial copy (an article about your university)
  2. Announcement of the lecturer’s visit and placement of information about your university in the Seasons magazine (circulation – 90, 000 copies, audience of one issue – 275, 000 people)
  3. Announcement on the Season’s website (60, 000 unique users per month), on British Council Russia website and on Education UK Russia website .
  4. Mailing of the announcement (5, 000 addresses in Seasons database, 12000 in British Council Russia database and 6000 in Education UK Russia database)
  5. Integrating the university (logo, name) into the advertising module of the event both on the website and in the magazine
  6. An opportunity to hand out promo materials at the event
  7. An opportunity of branding the studio during lectures or master classes with roll-up banners etc
  8. Photo and video
  9. Placement of a post-report on the aforementioned websites

The promo package is to be discussed individually depending on the cooperation level and may be corrected to meet the aims of the university. For further information please contact Tatiana Shashkova (tatiana.shashkova@britishcouncil.ru).
