The strengthened partnership and wider international scope of PMI2 requires suitable management arrangements to facilitate joint working, informed decision making, transparency and accountability. To this end, a PMI2 Programme Board has been established which comprises representatives from the Government, the British Council, and the UK education sector. The Joint International Unit (JIU) – which works to both the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) and the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) – jointly chairs this group with the British Council. JIU also provides secretariat support for the Board and manages the financial and contractual arrangements for the Programme.
