In Pakistan there are three centres that are financially supported by the Education UK Partnership, these include Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. From end September 2009, we are discontinuing the service of displaying institution prospectuses (also known as 'bulk freight') in local key institutional Resource Centres set up by British Council Pakistan. This is because our research has shown that fewer students are using hard copy resources to view prospectuses and the service is not providing a good return on investment. We therefore request that you do not forward any prospectuses to our offices. Thank you for your understanding. We are currently looking for an alternative way to promote member institutions more effectively. To this end, we have set up a focus group involving members and British Council staff and are now developing proposals which will be put forward to the Board in October 2009. Demand for this service can be high and priority for this service is given to our members of the Partnership.
In order to familiarise leading professionals, including journalists, principals and education agents with the UK we organise inward visits. These inward visits are aimed at increasing the understanding of studying and living in the UK. In addition they provide the perfect opportunity to showcase UK institutions. We advertise these opportunities via EducationUK-L. Ensure you subscribe to EducationUK-L in order to hear about these opportunities.
