The results of this survey will be used by the British Council and other UK education organisations to inform their planning and marketing processes.
This survey will take around 20 minutes to complete, although the actual length will depend on some of the answers you give. Your answers will be confidential and will only be used for the purpose of statistical and market analysis.
All information will be stored in accordance with the data protection act; the British Council will treat all personal information in accordance with UK law and its own privacy policy. The British Council will not reveal your personal information to any third party organisation and we will not contact you again unless you give us permission to do so.
These terms and conditions are the global prize draw rules (“rules”) by completing and submitting the student survey prior to the closing date you will be automatically entered into the global prize draw, you will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions and to have agreed to be bound by them.
The global prize draw is open to prospective international students resident in the UK and / or overseas aged 18 years or over.
Entries are strictly limited to one per prospective international student.
No purchase is necessary for entry to the global prize draw, simply complete and submit the Student Survey.
All entries must be submitted by completing the Student Survey; entries submitted by any other method may not be accepted.
The closing dates for all global prize draw entries are as follows:
Midnight 30 September, Greenwich Mean Time;
Midnight 31 January, Greenwich Mean Time;
Midnight 31 May, Greenwich Mean Time;
The global prize draws will take place within the calendar month following the closing date. Winners will be selected at random, incomplete, inappropriate or offensive entries will not be accepted, winners will be notified by email shortly afterwards.
Winners and prizes for the global prize draw will be selected at random on a first selected basis limited to one per winner.
There is no cash alternative to any of the prizes on offer and you are not permitted to exchange the prize, British Council reserves the right to substitute, modify or supersede all prize draws including any prize without notice at its absolute discretion.
For the avoidance of doubt the British Council shall not be responsible for any entry that fails to reach us by e-mail before the closing date.
Any entry which is damaged defaced. Illegible, incomplete or which otherwise does not comply with the terms and conditions hereunder may be deemed as invalid at the sole discretion of the British Council
If there is any dispute as to the identity of the person submitting the entry, that entry will be treated as though submitted by the account holder of the e-mail account.
Local prizes are offered at the discretion of individual British Council offices. These may be offered at different times and selected in different ways
The British Council reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time without giving prior notice.
Information we collect about you will be used and protected by us in accordance with current data protection law. We may contact you from time to time to invite you to take part in further research surveys. If you would prefer not to be invited to take part in further surveys please select the relevant box in the survey.
The British Council reserves the right to publish the names of the winners and runners-up, and the winning entries themselves, and all winners are required to give their full co-operation to all requests by The British Council or a promoter in connection with publicity for the competition, their entry, the prize or otherwise.
Where applicable, prize winners will be responsible for organising valid passport(s) and for securing any necessary visas or complying with other regulation. They are also strongly advised to take out adequate insurance and health advice. Dates, destinations and other specific details of a prize are subject to availability.
If any winner of a competition is unable to take up a prize for any reason, or if The British Council has not been able, after making reasonable efforts, to make contact with the winner, The British Council reserves the right to award that prize (without notice to the first winner chosen) to an alternative winner, in which case the first winner chosen shall not be eligible for any share of the prize whatsoever. The British Council shall not have any liability in such eventuality.
In no event will the British Council be liable for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the competition including, without limitation, consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damages whatsoever arising from participation in the competition, The British Council’s decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into with regard to it.
The prize draws may be withdrawn or changed at any time.
The global prize draw terms and conditions will be governed by English law.
Limitations of liability:
Neither the promoter nor the promotional parties assume any responsibility or liability for:
Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, network, lines, satellites. Servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of this promotion.
For the avoidance of doubt the English version of the Terms and Conditions are final. Any translations are for guidance only
