Education UK Fair, Uganda
29 February to 1 March 2008

An Download PDF Document event report (44KB) [Education UK Partnership password required] is available.

Following a discussion held with institutions who participated in the February 2007 Education UK Exhibition in Uganda, and British Council Kenya's withdrawal from the normally scheduled Education UK Exhibition in February each year, British Council Uganda has gone through a process of reviewing the future of the Education UK Exhibitions in Uganda and the decision has been made to work with local schools to arrange a smaller scale Education UK Fair.

There is now an increased number of international and local schools offering an international curriculum in Uganda. These students usually have the UK as their destination of study, because of the high quality of education it offers. It will therefore be more beneficial to have these institutions host the event directly, as they are a major target audience. Indeed, there are a number of UK institutions that have established strong direct links with local agents, schools and individuals and increased independent visits to reach their market.

Institutions that participated in the February 2007 Education UK Exhibition in Uganda agreed that the Kenyan model is more sustainable, considering that the size of the Ugandan market is much smaller than the Kenyan market. This was part of the recommendations highlighted in the February 2007 Exhibition report.

We are pleased therefore to offer you the opportunity to participate in this low cost event, which will be held at the Agha Khan High School in Kampala, Uganda, from 29 February until 1 March 2008.
