Education UK Exhibition United Arab Emirates
16 to 18 January 2010

Update 19 November 2009:
Please note that the venue for the exhibition in Dubai has been changed from the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel to the Radisson Blu Hotel, both of which are 5* premises. The Radisson Blu Hotel is located in the heart of the business and shopping district, easily accessible for schools and colleges and offers competitive accommodation rates for exhibitors.

Although the deadline for applications has now passed, expressions of interest to participate in this event are still welcome.

We apologise for the late opening of this event. Exhibitor feedback from last year’s event indicated that exhibitors did not wish to participate again in an event supported by Najah, the state education exhibition set up following last year’s legislation prohibiting independent education exhibitions in Abu Dhabi. Therefore, another venue had to be located and this was not confirmed until the beginning of September 2009.

Key details

Date Location Participation fee for Partnership members Participation fee for all other institutions Maximum number of participants
16 January 2010 Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates GBP 991 GBP 1,982 45
17 to 18 January 2010 Dubai, United Arab Emirates GBP 1,660 GBP 3,320 58

The participation fee includes:

  • venue hire
  • Dubai:
    • six square metres stand, fascia board, display / storage table, two chairs, stand lighting, electrical sockets
  • Abu Dhabi:
    • due to space restrictions, exhibitors will be provided with a table and chairs and room for two roll-up banners
  • PR campaign: advertising on Education UK and British Council websites and external education-related websites, nationwide radio stations, in English and Arabic daily newspapers and industry magazines, flyers, posters and banners in public-facing areas of British Council offices and distributed to agencies, scholarship bodies, schools, colleges and universities, mailshots sent out to Education UK database, visits to schools and higher education institutions to prepare visitors
  • marketing briefing, networking lunch, wrap-around seminars, institution / school / agent visits to the exhibition, refreshments
  • discounted hotel rates and advice on a variety of hotel options
  • travel between selected hotels and venues.

Stand sharing is available at a premium of 20 per cent on the cost of participation.

Please note that the participation fee does not include international or domestic travel, accommodation, subsistence or freight, except where stated.

The participation fees stated above incorporate a 'credit crunch' contingency and are the maximum that participants will be charged. If this additional contingency is not called upon, participants will be invoiced for less than the maximum fee.

Last year, we set a target to reduce our overall exhibition costs by 12 per cent. A reduction of 17 per cent has been achieved in Abu Dhabi, as the Abu Dhabi Men’s College has offered the use of the venue free-of-charge. However, due to the inclusion of the credit crunch contingency, as well as the strength of the AED against the dollar, the cost of the Dubai event has increased by 18 per cent. We have ensured that all costs have been kept to a minimum whilst maintaining the standards and expectations of an Education UK exhibition. The following charts show the cost breakdown for the exhibition in October 2008 compared to this exhibition: Abu Dhabi (11KB GIF image); Dubai (12KB GIF image).
