- PR campaign: advertising on television, web, radio, newspapers, street banners, flyers, and advertising in BTS sky train stations
- market briefing, one-to-one meeting with agents, meetings with Thai academics, lunch, refreshments, Alumni Grand Reunion
- discounted hotel rates and stay for two nights and get a third night free at Le Royal Meridien, Plaza Athinee (for the first 50 rooms).
Stand sharing is available at a premium of 20 per cent on the cost of participation.
Please note that the participation fee does not include international or domestic travel, accommodation, subsistence or freight, except where stated.
The participation fees stated above incorporate a 'credit crunch' contingency and are the maximum that participants will be charged. If this additional contingency is not called upon, participants will be invoiced for less than the maximum fee.
Due to the current economic climate and the additional credit crunch contingency, we have been unable to reduce the exhibition costs compared to the previous exhibition. These charts (11KB GIF image) show the cost breakdown for the exhibition in February 2009 compared to this exhibition and show an increase of 1.5 per cent. We have ensured that all costs have been kept to a minimum whilst maintaining the standards and expectations of an Education UK exhibition.
The followings changes have been made to the 2010 exhibition as a result of comments and advice received from exhibitors at the 2009 exhibition:
- the opening hours will be 1200 to 1800 (previously 1100 to 1800)
- two lunch and coffee break vouchers will be available for every booth
- exhibitors can choose to pay for WiFi Internet access at the exhibition (in order to display their websites and save costs on freight to deliver the prospectus to Thailand).

Le Royal Meridien, Plaza Athinee Bangkok
www.lemeridien.com/bangkokplazaathenee
This is a change of venue from the one used last year. Unfortunately, despite booking the Centara Grand at the same time as last year, that venue was only available on 30 and 31 January 2010, dates that clash with the exhibitions in Hong Kong and India. We therefore decided on the Royal Meridien, Plaza Athinee, one of the most prominent venues in the heart of the business and commercial area in Bangkok on 6 and 7 February 2010 to tie in this exhibition with the Hong Kong Exhibitionon 30 to 31 January 2010.
The advantages to exhibitors of attending the exhibition at the new venue are as follows:
- all booths will be located in the hotel’s newly built Crystal Hall Ballroom
- the venue is easily accessible by both car (close to the express way, can be accessed via the two main roads: Sukhumvit or Wireless Road) and the BTS sky train (Ploenchit Station)
- exhibitors can stay for two nights and get a third night free (for the first 50 rooms only. This will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Once UK institutions have applied to attend the exhibition and received confirmation, they are eligible to book the accommodation to obtain the third night free)
- this year, the final round of The Pitch Education UK challenge will be organised at the same venue as the exhibition. We expect a large number of media, VIPs and prospective students to join this event because there will be key people and celebrities from the football industry in both Thailand and the UK taking part. We believe that this event will add value to the exhibition. The Pitch is a football management competition for students and is funded by PMI2.
- exhibitors will receive two complimentary lunch and coffee break vouchers per institution.
UK passport holders are permitted to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days by obtaining a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival at the airport. Other passport holders should check with their travel agent or contact the Consulate or Embassy of the country they plan to visit.
The deadlines for freight collection by our recommended freight handler are:
- Sea freight: 4 December 2009
- Air freight: 15 January 2010
The participation fee does not include freight costs and these are the responsibility of the participating institution.
Cancellation fees will be charged for withdrawal from this event, as of the date of receipt of notice of withdrawal:
- 50 per cent of the full event cost for withdrawals received on or after 7 December 2009
- 100 per cent of the full event cost for withdrawals received on or after 31 December 2009
Notice of cancellation must be given by e-mail to educationuk.events@britishcouncil.org. You will receive a confirmation message within one week of your cancellation.
Although the deadline for applications has now passed, expressions of interest to participate in this event are still welcome.
Please complete the on-line application form. You will receive confirmation by e-mail once your application has been received.
If you wish to stand share with other institutions, this must be clearly stated on all participants' application forms in the relevant section.
All applications are subject to the Education UK exhibitions terms and conditions, which include the eligibility and selection criteria and details of when you will be informed whether your application has been accepted or rejected.
If you have any queries about this event, please contact the Education UK Events Helpdesk.
