Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World Centara Grand Hotel www.centarahotelsresorts.com/cgcw
This is a change of venue from the one used for previous exhibitions, the Intercontinental Hotel. The Centara Hotel is a brand new five-star hotel with a large convention centre. It is located in the city centre and close to two BTS sky train stations: Siam Square and Chit Lom. In addition, it is connected to the grand department store of Bangkok, Central World.
The advantages to exhibitors of attending the exhibition at the Centara are as follows:
- due to the much larger space, exhibitors will get a bigger booth: 3 by 3 metres (previously 2 by 3 metres)
- all booths will be located in the main hall (in the past, some institutions were outside the Grand Ballroom, due to limited space)
- the hotel provides 3,000 parking spaces for guests and is easily accessible by public transport, especially the BTS sky train
- exhibitors will be given a complimentary lunch for one delegate per booth on both 7 and 8 February 2009.
Amari Rincome Hotel
Visas are not required for UK passport holders. Other passport holders should check with their travel agent or contact the Consulate or Embassy of the country they plan to visit.
Note: Although there has been some tightening of visa policy implementation on the number of times foreign nationals may consecutively enter and re-enter Thailand using a 'visa on arrival' (currently three times), there has been no change since 1 October 2006 on the requirement for foreign nationals who intend to engage in business in Thailand to obtain a 'business visa’ prior to entry. It has always been an official requirement for foreign nationals entering Thailand to obtain a business visa, and this regulation was not affected by the 1 October 2006 changes to visa policy. However, visitors entering Thailand to attend meetings, conferences or exhibitions and not seeking to undertake paid employment have routinely entered the Kingdom using a 'visa on arrival' under the tolerance of Thai immigration. Although this is officially not permitted, there is currently no evidence of visitors arriving to attend business meetings being refused entry and this state of tolerance is unlikely to change in the near future.
The deadlines for freight collection by our recommended freight handler are:
- Sea freight: 12 December 2008
- Air freight: 15 January 2009
The participation fee does not include freight costs and these are the responsibility of the participating institution.
