Education UK ELT Exhibition and FE Showcase, Thailand
9 to 10 November 2007

An Download PDF Document event report (211KB) [Education UK Partnership password required] is available.

ELT short-courses form the second largest market sector in Thailand after postgraduate courses, within excess of 2,500 students traveling to the UK each year. The mini-exhibition will provide an opportunity for English Language providers to meet with parents and students thinking of studying in the UK, through specifically targeted marketing and promotion for event.

In addition to ELT, the event also aims to raise awareness of the excellence of career-based courses offered by UK institutions. Traditionally a very marginal sector of the market, this is increasingly highlighted by agents as a potential market, particularly for providers offering English plus vocational courses or short-term courses in subjects such as art and design or hotel and catering.

This event will also provide platform for UK institutions to meet and network with agents and key members in Thailand’s vocational education institutions and will include a meeting with the Thai International Consultant Association (TIECA), the main body representing agents in Thailand. In addition, UK institutions will be able to find out further information regarding the UK Summer Schools project, a collaborative project between the British Council and TIECA aimed specifically at recruiting Thai students to study English in the UK during the Thai summer (March to April).
