European Education Fair Taiwan
13 to 17 November 2010

UPDATE [03/02/11]: An Download PDF Document event report (887 kB) [Education UK Partnership password required] is now available.

Education exhibitions in Taiwan, over the last few years, have become a very important element of promotion activity in the study aboard market. Innovative approaches that reach to a wider audience play a significant role in the organisation of these events. Following a series of discussions internally and externally, as well as the approval from the Taiwan Panel, we are pleased to announce that Education UK Exhibition and European Higher Education Fair (EHEF), two key education events in Taiwan, will join up together in November this year to present European Education Fair (EEF) – the biggest education exhibition ever in Taiwan.

Being the top study destination in European Union, the UK will feature prominently in the European Education Fair, and British Council Taipei are playing an active role in the organising committee to ensure that the overall presentation of the UK pavilion is of desired quality standards. The EHEF event has expanded rapidly over the recent years and its latest exhibition successfully attracted over 16,000 visitors over two days. This year the newly formed European Education Fair is aiming for a total visitor number of 20,000 comprising of students, parents, teachers and young academics from Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung that are interested in overseas education.

EEF 2010 has plans for pre-event promotion activities in local university campuses, libraries and other European organisations that will take place from early summer until late autumn. The UK, as one of the participating countries, will benefit from the increased and extended profile raising opportunities. Furthermore, there will be a Taiwan-European Higher Education Conference built into the event programme in Taipei. Working with the local partner, Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET), the Conference aims to facilitate the discussion between institutions from Taiwan and Europe on link developments. UK HE institutions that attend the Taipei leg of exhibition are all invited to take part in the Conference so as to fully utilise the programme, which will contribute to both recruitment and collaboration agenda.

We hope you will support our new approach with European Education Fair (EEF) and will enjoy the series of activities during the fair. For full details of the programme, please see below.

  • Market briefing
Prior to opening of the fair, British Council will hold a briefing session in the event venue to provide the latest market updates to all UK participants. The briefing will include Taiwan PEST Analysis, UK SWOT Analysis, market characteristics, competition and opportunities for UK education providers, etc. so as to provide UK exhibitors the full picture of the overseas study trend in Taiwan.
  • Education UK brand promotion campaign
Along with the standard promotion of the Fair, the British Council will organise a series of Education UK brand promotion campaign through various effective local media. This will strengthen the UK’s presence in the market as well as promoting the UK’s participation to this year’s European Education Fair.  The UK campaign will take place from July to December 2010.  The campaign will have strong messaging on the quality of UK education, marketability of UK qualifications, diversity of living and studying in the UK, with an aim to further enhance the public’s awareness of Education UK and direct visitors in greater volume to the UK Pavilion in the European Fair.
  • Separate seminar room specially for UK
The British Council has successfully negotiated a separate seminar room to be deployed specifically for UK exhibitors to deliver topic-focused presentations. Each session will be between 30 to 45 minutes.  UK participants who would like to give presentations can directly contact the Taipei office for details and do not need to compete with other European institutions for limited seminar slots which will be only 15 to 20 minutes each.
  • A report with UK market focus
The post-event report from the European Fair will focus on event highlights, exhibitor feedback, promotion strategy, media coverage and overall trend of people studying in the European Union.
