An event report (63KB) is available.
This is an event that brings UK institutions directly to a number of local Junior Colleges in Singapore. It is aimed at providing an opportunity for students from Junior Colleges to gain information about UK universities / courses to further their studies at undergraduate level. An invitation will also be extended to students of the International Schools in Singapore. It is a three day, low-cost event, with a target audience of approximately 3,000 students.
The roadshow is a different approach from the traditional ‘ballroom’ Education fair, aiming to target our audience at their place of study. The Junior Colleges involved are three of the top institutions in Singapore, with a reputation of sustained numbers of students interested in an overseas education. The event has been timed to coincide with the time when local A-level students are researching and planning for their HE applications.
- an opportunity to promote UK education in Singapore at a much lower cost than at the traditional Education UK Exhibition
- an opportunity to build a closer working relationship with the careers advisers in Singapore, as the event will be held in the local education institutions
- no need to make separate visits to the Junior Colleges, saving both time and money
- bigger crowds expected with serious enquiries about their courses.
- will be able to meet most of the UK representatives under one roof at the same time
- the timing is good for local students, as they are preparing to make applications to higher education institutions.
- the careers advisers will have an opportunity to build closer ties with UK partners
- the local institutions will add value to the overall experience for students, where these institutions will serve as a 'one-stop-centre'.
- provides UK institutions with a new platform for recruiting international students at a low cost
- provides opportunities for closer ties with the career advisers of Junior Colleges in Singapore.
