An event report (157KB) is available.
We would like you to consider some very important issues with this event regarding planning, costs and showcasing opportunities.
For 2009, we have made a great effort to avoid clashes with other exhibitions around the world. Very early planning and date selection has allowed this event to stand alone, to avoid being held at the same time as the India and China exhibitions, which has happened in previous years.
British Council Mexico has also managed to considerably reduce the costs of both venues, despite economic fluctuations. Negotiation with suppliers and some modifications to the event has allowed colleagues in Mexico to reduce the prices without diminishing the quality and potential impact of the exhibitions. As a result, they have achieved a participation fee reduction of three per cent in Mexico City and 31 per cent in Monterrey compared to last year.
To meet institutions’ demands, we have removed the rest day between the Mexico City and Monterrey exhibitions and arranged improved schedules to reduce the time delegates are required to be in-country for the event, which will save on accommodation costs and expenses. Furthermore, we are implementing one-to-one interviews in Monterrey for the first time. In both cities, one-to-one interview arrangements will be the delegates’ responsibility.
Please be aware that this will be the only opportunity to promote your institution in Mexico before Autumn 2009. We strongly recommend that you consider that there will be no CONACyT exhibition for non-Mexican institutions and that EuroPosgrados will not be held until November 2009. These two factors leave the Education UK Exhibition as the only international exhibition available to showcase UK institutions in Mexico.

In addition to the generic aims of all Education UK Exhibitions, the aims of this event are to:
- set up a space for UK institutions after the event, so that they can provide personalised attention to those attendants identified as serious prospects for studying at their institution
- take advantage of the market niches created by the current increase of fees at Mexican private institutions at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in order to attract self-funded students to the UK
- promote split PhDs and joint degree agreements between UK and Mexican institutions as a positive option, in order to attract more Mexican students to the UK through a diversified scope of programmes and degrees.

Please note that the logistics in Monterrey will be different from previous years. The exhibition room and the interviewing room are next to each other. The exhibition will remain open until 2100, but you will have the option to hold individual interviews in the other room whilst your stand is manned by a stand assistant.
