Higher Education Fair: Mauritius
20 to 21 May 2011

UPDATE [09/02/11]: The organisers have confirmed the new dates as 20 to 21 May 2011.

UPDATE [05/01/11]: The organisers of this event have notified us of a change in dates - this event will now take place in May, as soon as we have exact dates we will update these details.

This year’s Higher Education Fair has, as usual, been organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Grand Bay and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources and is an integral part of the International Careers Guidance / Higher Educational Fair.

In previous years, the Fairs have attracted more than 20,000 students and professionals and we are expecting a larger number this year.

Alumni Event
Feedback from delegates who attended Career World 2010 suggested a strong preference for an Alumni cocktail to take place during the fair dates instead of the usual sit down dinner. According to delegates this would allow for the possibility to invite more alumni members from the participating HE institutions. As a result, we are very pleased to inform and invite you to the UK Alumni Cocktail on Friday 20 May 2011 at 19.00.

This event will serve as an excellent opportunity for you to not only bring your alumni together in a social setting but also you will have the chance to network with local officials and important stakeholders from the Mauritian education sector.

The alumni cocktail will be held at the residence of the British High Commissioner in Floreal.

As participant to this year’s education fair, you will be a guest of the British Council at this event. However, please note that the cost for members of your alumni is £18 per person and will be invoiced to your institution in January 2011. Please indicate the number of alumni invitees that you wish to book places for in the application form.

Advertising
We have negotiated a deal with Le Matinal, a widely read newspaper, in which UK universities can advertise before and during the fair. Please send your artwork in TIFF or JPG format to adlematinal@gmail.com and copied to Rumila.g@lematinal.mu before the 20th April

Artwork sent after the above deadline will be charged new 2011 rates.

Based on our agreement with Le Matinal, the British Council will send you the invoice for advertisements.

You may also send any relevant articles regarding studies in the UK which may be published in Le Matinal’s education section.
