This year’s Higher Education Fair has, as usual, been organised in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Grand Bay and the Ministry of Education and Human Resources and is an integral part of the International Careers Guidance / Higher Educational Fair.
In previous years the fairs have been held in May. This year, the Fair has been brought forward to February, as this is when the O-level and A-level examination results come out and it is felt that this is a better time for the market. Due to the dates being brought forward, the dates and arrangements for the Fair have only recently been finalised. We apologise for the short notice being given.
Last year, the Fair attracted more than 20,000 students and professionals and we are expecting a larger number this year.

Following a highly successful Alumni Dinner last year, we are pleased to host another dinner this year. It will be held at the British High Commissioner’s Residence on Thursday 25 February 2010. Transport will be provided for delegates to and from the alumni dinner.
This event is an excellent opportunity to network with local officials – one key stakeholder from the Mauritian education sector will be present at each table. It also allows universities to touch base with their alumni in Mauritius or to create an alumni network.
Reservations can be made on the application form. Due to high demand, this should be done by 15 January 2010 at the latest.
Fee: GBP 400 per table seating ten people, payable by 22 January 2010.
Advertising will be undertaken, as in previous years, by the British Council. Should you want to place a separate advertisement in Le Matinal newspaper, the artwork, in TIFF or JPEG format, should be sent to the event co-ordinator. The invoice will be sent to you as soon as you submit the artwork (estimated cost: GBP 350). You may also send any relevant articles regarding studies in the UK which may be published in Le Matinal’s education section. There will be a booklet which will be published exclusively for the Fair. We encourage you to put your institution’s advertisement in the booklet, as it has wide coverage. Please note that the deadline for this is 22 January 2010.

Sofitel Imperial Resort and Spa is situated in Flic en Flac, on the West Coast of the island. This exotic hotel is an hour’s drive from the Fair venue.
