The exhibition in Jakarta will be held over two days, targeting both undergraduate and postgraduate students, due to the fact that a one-day exhibition for undergraduate students was not held in April 2009, as a result of the general election in Indonesia. Surabaya has been chosen as the second city instead of Bandung, as an exhibition has not been held there for two years and it is an important market. Research by British Council Indonesia indicates that those students from Bandung who are interested in UK study will be happy to travel to Jakarta.
The participation fee includes:
- one standard hotel table, 1.8 metres by 0.8 metres, and four chairs (it is recommended to bring a roll-up banner)
- newspaper adverts in national newspaper for Jakarta and Surabaya
- street banners
- airport transfers for Surabaya
- merchandises for visitors
- discounted hotel rates.
Stand sharing is available at a premium of 20 per cent on the cost of participation.
Please note that the participation fee does not include international or domestic travel, accommodation, subsistence or freight, except where stated.
The participation fees stated above incorporate a 'credit crunch' contingency and are the maximum that participants will be charged. If this additional contingency is not called upon, participants will be invoiced for less than the maximum fee.
Last year, we set a target to reduce our overall exhibition costs by 12 per cent. Due to the fact the exhibition in Jakarta this year will be held over two days instead of one, combined with the current economic climate and the additional credit crunch contingency, we have been unable to reduce our exhibition costs against the previous exhibition. These charts (17KB GIF image) show the cost breakdown for the exhibition in October 2008 compared to this exhibition. We have ensured that all costs have been kept to a minimum whilst maintaining the standards and expectations of an Education UK exhibition.

UK education consultation session with individual students: a mini exhibition will be held at the HSBC premises and will be open to their premier account holders in addition to the general public. British Council Indonesia will put the profile of the UK institutions attending the event in Surabaya on the Education UK Indonesia website and prior to the exhibition students will have an opportunity to register for a ten to 15 minute slot for one-to-one discussions with institution representatives. We anticipate between 80 and 100 registered students attending the event. Information about the consultation sessions will also be distributed during the schools and universities road show which will take place in October 2009. |
