Traditionally, the British Council has organized a fully branded UK Pavilion within an international exhibition, working together with a national partner. Increasingly, the additional licensing fee charged for this activity has had significant cost implications for UK institutions and we have therefore seen the need to review our exhibitions activity, considering where the British Council can add most value to the activity undertaken by UK institutions in the Chinese market.

As a result, our main role at these exhibitions will be to co-ordinate registration of UK institutions and to be present at the exhibition to promote UK education to the general public. The Chinese partner agency, CEAIE / Fairlink Company, will now oversee the registration process and will manage all arrangements for the autumn exhibition tour in China.

We firmly believe that this change is for the benefit of UK exhibitors and offers the best value for money that we can provide to UK institutions. We would like to assure you that the British Council will continue to have a presence at these exhibitions and will continue to maintain the quality and positioning of the Education UK brand within these exhibitions.

In addition, to maximise the benefits for institutions attending the exhibitions in China, the British Council will also organise a series of wrap-around activities during the exhibition period, which could include the following:

  • an information day at a local English training school
  • an information day at a local institution
  • a presentation at the British Council office
  • a partnership brokering event with Chinese institutions.

We will send further details of exhibition wrap-around activities to institutions once activity is confirmed. Please contact us if you have any suggestions for further wrap-around activities in China.

This event is now closed for applications.

Please note that all payments, enquiries, follow-up and on-site support at the exhibitions will be managed by Fairlink. We strongly encourage all UK institutions to apply for the exhibitions via the British Council, so that we can have an accurate picture of all UK exhibitors who are attending and can co-ordinate with the Chinese partner to maintain a strong UK presence at the exhibitions.
