An event report (55KB) is available.
Since 2005, we have been working as a consortium with DAAD, CampusFrance / the French Embassy in Argentina and the Spanish Embassy in Argentina, with the political and financial endorsement of the European Union Delegation in Argentina. We organise activities that promote studies in Europe, actively create links between Argentina and Europe, work closely with national universities, and target key contacts.
In 2006 and 2007, we organised EuroPosgrados, the most prestigious European education exhibition in Argentina, which, every year, receives an audience of 8,000 to 10,000 people. Another edition of EuroPosgrados is currently being planned for May 2009. EuroPosgrados has the endorsement of the National Ministry of Education.
In 2008, the British Council – along with the other organisations in the consortium – has decided to change the profile of our work in Argentina, in order to raise the visibility of European universities at a lower cost, and with higher impact outside Buenos Aires. We have decided to visit the national universities in the provinces. Each visit will combine a one-day poster / brochure exhibition at the university’s hall, with talks to students about undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the UK. These visits have the total support of the national universities.
The programme of these visits will include:
- National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo): founded in 1939, currently has approximately 38,000 students enrolled
- National University of Córdoba (UNC): founded in 1613, currently has approximately 114,000 students enrolled
- National University of Rosario (UNR): founded in 1968, currently has approximately 76,000 students enrolled
This brochure / poster model is designed to enable those that have already been operating in the market to enhance their profile and for new-comers to the market to test the market potential before investing in a more expensive promotional visit. The fact that the exhibition is held in each national university and has the total endorsement of the institution – which will include internal promotion – means that a large number of students will attend. We will also promote the event externally.
This brochure / poster display exhibition in the provinces offers UK institutions an extremely low cost promotional opportunity in Argentina, without the necessity to send a representative to the exhibition. British Council staff will oversee the institutions displays and collect student registration details to forward to the participating institutions. The cost is therefore for an exclusive promotional display space at each venue only. At previous events, institutions have made effective use of alumni and or exchange students in-country to assist in raising their profile at the events.
