Since 2002, the number of Nigerian students choosing to study in the UK has increased by 75 per cent. In 2004/2005 alone, this market increased by 37 per cent. Currently, there are now over 8,000 Nigerian students in the UK and it is the sixth largest source of international students to the UK.
For many institutions this is a new market, and the Education UK Partnership has organised a one-day conference for members of the Partnership to consider the opportunities of this market and explore ways of working effectively in Nigeria.
The conference will draw upon experiences of institutions that have been active in the market for a number of years, including:
Stuart Rennie, Robert Gordon University |
Adrienne Clarke, London Metropolitan University |
Simon Terrington, HIBT |
Delegates attending this event will have the opportunity to meet the newly recruited Education UK Partnership team from Nigeria as well as hear from the Country Director, Dr. John Richards, on how Nigeria will be supporting the needs of the Partnership.
The conference aims to be interactive and will provide an opportunity for delegates to share best practise and discuss issues that are relevant to their marketing strategies. The programme has been designed to give both new entrants and experienced practitioners opportunities to gain useful insights into the market. The day will include the following sessions:
