The Education UK website is an on-line resource for marketing UK education and training around the world. Launched in 2002, the website attracts excess of 6.1 million unique users per year.


Services for institutions

Promotional opportunities: the website has a searchable database where institutions can publish the courses they offer - currently the site has over 450,000 courses demonstrating how much choice the UK has as a study destination.
Showcasing opportunities: through advertorial content, institutions can feature articles on subjects of their choice to prospective students in priority markets.
Profiling opportunities: institutions can publish their profiles in local languages on country specific Education UK websites (exclusive to members of our Country Partnerships).


Services for prospective students

An introduction to studying in the UK: here students can access a generic overview of the types of courses offered by UK education providers, where these courses are offered and reasons why a student would choose the UK education.
Detail on the types of courses: here students can find out further information on the details of the courses including ELT, GCSEs, A-levels and equivalents, vocational courses and career-based courses, degrees, postgraduate programmes and MBAs.
Course search: the websites offer both a quick course search, a more advance course search, an institution search and the option to just browse the website for inspiration.
Study advice: this area offers students more information on abbreviations, entry requirements, the education systems in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland and the different types of teaching methods.
Scholarships and fees: here students can search for scholarships, bursaries and awards that may be offered and obtain information on the costs of studying and living in the UK.
Living in the UK: this area provides students with advice on all aspects about living in the UK including accommmodation, culture, food, health and safety, immigration procedures and information about working in the UK.

Currently we publish the information in English and 11 translations: Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Japanese, Thai, Arabic, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese and Korean


Is the information tailored to its audience?
There are 25 country versions of the Education UK website providing locally relevant information on a range of subjects, including visas and scholarships.


Who administers the Education UK website?
Hotcourses manages the central Education UK website and the database it uses. This supports the country versions, which are managed and promoted locally throughout the British Council network of offices worldwide.


Is there a benefit to members of the Education UK Partnership?
Yes - Partnership member institutions are offered a 30 per cent discount on all showcasing and profiling opportunities.
