As part of PMI2, Education UK has devised a new competition that shows potential students and employers the investment value of a UK education through the completion of 'challenges' set by UK institutions working with Education UK and the British Council. The competition, known as 'The Education UK Challenge', is being rolled out globally in 2009 / 2010 and aims to give people looking for an international education an interactive experience of the value and excellence of a UK education. The challenges are designed to run in a number of different markets.
Institutions or groups of institutions in the UK were invited to help with the creation, development and execution of the campaign, which is described in more detail in the Education UK Challenge brochure (446KB).
Forty proposals were received from institutions and the following four were successful:

The Pitch: Using business and marketing skills to manage a professional English football club for a season. (Coventry University Business School) |

Dream Lab: Scientists and artists working together to devise a series of events around the science of sleeping and dreaming. (Kingston University) |

Dynamic Designs: Teams are required to design and construct an earthquake resistant model, with model buildings being tested on an earthquake shaking table. (University of Bristol) |

 |
(name to be confirmed) Teams are asked to design a bridge that will cope with increased volumes of traffic generated by a major international sporting event, whilst also considering the social and environmental impact on the local community of the construction.
