We offer an events management service at varying levels depending on your subscription. All UK education providers can access basic support and advice to assist your visit to Brazil. We also offer a range of exclusive services for members of the Education UK Partnership
In 2007, British Council Brazil innovated with a new concept of event/fair - one considered pilot for the global Exhibitions Review project, in the UK .Focusing on PG and with mandatory online registration, the format limited the quantity of exhibitors and visitors, in order to provide quality time with a focused audience.
Students from all over the country could participate through the internet. Participation costs were 35% lower than in our last traditional editions, and the results were successful on both universities' and students' point of view.
The success of the PGWEEK instantly motivates us to organise a second edition. The 2nd Postgraduate Week took place from 15 to 19 October 2008. In Rio, it was held att the Hotel Windsor Excelsior in Copacabana and in Sao Paulo it was at the Brazilian British Centre, as last year. Almost 1,000 students met 15 UK universities face to face during the event. Other 500 students participated on online activities - live chats or live webcast of the universities presentations.
Though its model of university focus and low budget events was established successfully, British Council Brazil could not organise a formal event through the Education UK Partnership framework in 2009, mainly because of severe cuts in staff and budget. However, a group of 10 London-based institutions decided to plan a joint visit to Brazil.
Though the costing model was different and there was no recruitment, we decided to market the joint event to students as an exhibition, a sequence to PGWEEK. Since only London universities were in the group, the geographical aspect was marketed, and "London Week" was created. The event took place in São Paulo, Rio and Campinas (100 kms from São Paulo)
In 2010, British Council went back to the regular Education UK exhibition model. The event is keeping the tradition of focus on Higher Education and cost-effective approach. Universities UK will feature a record number of HE institutions in Brazil for the same event. It will take place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (16-19 October 2010).
