Dreams + Teams

Creating global citizens and future leaders through sport

What is the Dreams + Teams project?
Dreams + Teams launched in July 2001 and has involved over 10,000 young people, with partners in twenty countries. The project aims to develop the leadership skill and cross-cultural awareness of young people through sport and international educational links.

Dreams + Teams in Ethiopia
Working in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, Youth & Culture and with Kotebe Teachers Education College we have designed a program to develop the leadership skill of the young people in the country. So far sports leadership skill training has been given to twenty sport teachers/professionals & 60 young people selected from five secondary high schools in Addis Ababa.

We are planning to give the same training to the young people in three regions outside Addis Ababa.
We currently have three local tutors trained to give training on sports leadership skill, and we have just got a local lead trainer trained in the UK.
As part of the project, we have established a link with the Coseley School in the UK. Through this link, the young leaders are electronically corresponding with the students of the school to share ideas & experiences. We are planning to increase the number of link schools to two.
